Hi ,

Yes, Esther Ranzen did talk about it recently on Vines BBC2

program.

It was following the case of the lady who was aquitted of

manslaughter?murder regarding the assisted suicide of her daughter

who suffered with ME.

Esthers daughter also had ME for 20 years and was significantly

helped by Lightening process. A few other callers on the program had

also benefitted from it.

That's all I can tell you I'm afraid.

Hope it helps.

Hi ,

I have a patient who suffered with severe ME for several years until trying The

Lightning Process. Since, she feels 95% better, the 5% meaning that she just

needs to be careful not to exert herself too much.

It has been about 8 months since she did it and still feels great.

She has found it incredibly useful but it is the only experience I can relate

I'm afraid.

However, she did mention that most therapists charge in excess of £1000, even

£2000 and that the lady she saw as part of a small group, over one weekend, near

Brighton, charged something like £400-500 (I can't remember exactly). I can get

the details if anyone is interested.

Kind regards,

Milena

Hi ,

I've heard very mixed reports of the Lightening Process. One of my adrenal

stress patients raved about it, saying it had completely sorted her out, while a

nutritional therapist friend of mine said that it only 'works' for a proportion

of people who do it, and it's very expensive. She was highly sceptical.

The Lightning Process

Hi everyone

I wonder if any of you have come across the Lightning Process or know anything

about it?

http://www.lightningprocess.com

One of my patients asked me about it this morning. I've taken a look and

despite all the testimonials have to confess my skepticism radar is somehow on

highly active. It smacks of network marketing to me but if it is why would

Esther Ranzten be promoting it? I've visited several of the practitioner

websites and for almost all of them got a 'bad feeling' with exception of one.

I'd love to be able to say to this patient, yes it's fine, go ahead. She's not

clutching at straws and isn't looking for miracles - longstanding patient who

trusts my intuition on many things. On the other hand if she'd be wasting her

money, I'd like to know.

So if anyone knows anyone who does this, or anyone who has been, knows a

practitioner or just anything about it all, could you let me know please?

Thanks for your comments

I've had two stories about the Lightning process.

The first one was from a woman I met at a festival last summer who had been

through it. She gratefully acknowledged that her life had been transformed

by it (exactly like Milena's patient, she described herself as 95% better -

is that one of their buzz phrases, I wonder?). But she was nevertheless

quite scathing about the personalities of the main people involved - her

opinion was that the egos had become somewhat inflated. Only she put it

rather less politely than that.

But she also claimed to still be in touch with several people who had done

the course with her, who had also maintained startling recoveries. She said

that she would recommend it to others, so long as they were prepared to

ignore the obnoxious bits and take the positives.

Then the other story is from an on-and-off patient. For her, sadly, it was

just one in a long line of miracle cures that never were. She blames herself

for not being disciplined in applying it properly.

Hi

Yes I have heard many good things about it and have a friend who was cured

of her ME with it though she still does get tired.

People have recovered from all kinds of diseases including MS.

There is a very good practitioner Ben Oakley who helps many people. He

operates from Bristol but I believe he travels around as well.

The lightening process is all about changing patterns of thinking and

behaviour.

His website is http://oakleycentre.co.uk/lightning-process.htm

Hope that helps,

Best wishes

Fiona

Its helped two of my patients, one who had only had ME type symptoms for a few

months and another who had had them for several years and was able to stop herbs

immediately afterwards.

Hi Benn

im sure there was a discussion on this a while ago - check the archives. I think

the consensus wasnt very impressive.I think the benefits were shortlived

but Im only going on vague memories of the discussion.

The Lightning Process

Hello All,

My friend's daughter has a chronic fatigue scenario following a viral

infection; she possibly has ME. In her search for help, I have been

asked if I know anything about the Lightning Process. Internet info is

limited mostly to either PR for the process or people who tried it and

it didn't work for them.

As with all things, it is always good to check with peers and their

contacts or connections. So, I wonder if anyone can please help me

with...

1. Do you practice this?

2. Do you have any experience of this?

3. Do you know a practitioner of this process?

Please let me know whatever you can and if there is anyone I can give

contact details of to my friend so she may ask the questions she needs

to.

Many thanks,

Benn

I ran a retreat centre for the last four years in Hertfordshire called Loudwater

Farm, and one regular booking was for the Lightning process. The teacher was

, she had ME all through her twenties till mid thirties , bed

ridden for 5 years, she did the process and it cured her , so now she teaches

it, all over Europe. She is a very genuine woman, kind and thorough . The

stories from those who have done it are extremely impressive. Her website is

definitivechange.co.uk

I did it to see what it was like and to help my tendency for depression, and i

found it a very simple technique, and useful. The more debilitated you are the

more impact it will have, i think.

I would recommend ,

Dear ,

I would personally be very wary of the Lightning Process. It clearly does work

very well for some, but others have been made worse by it - myself included.

Not enough is yet known about the different subgroups of CFS/ME and Fibromyalgia

and their underlying pathophysiology. In general it seems to help those who have

a post-viral condition or psychologically-based fatigue, with particularly

dramatic results in children and young people. When I did it the 2 of us that it

didn't work for had had a diagnosis of fibromyalgia.

I tend to suggest that if someone wants to try one of these mind-body

approaches, they would do better with the Gupta Amygdala retraining programme.

That didn't work for me either, but it's a much cheaper option (I think about

£100 compared to £600+ for LP), as you buy a set of DVDs etc and do it from home

over 6 months, rather than the 3-day miracle cure.

best wishes,

Isobel

Hi Isobel

I think something from the archives has come up here by mistake. I did ask about

this a while back and you gave a very detailed answer, but the recent question

came from Benn.

Either that or I'm living in a time warp - which could of course be possible.

best wishes

Hello ,

I don't know about you and time warps... However, the query from me led

to your original email popping up... Hence, what happened next...

And Hello Isobel,

Thank you for your comments, very useful to get your feedback.

Best as always,

Benn
