Guest guest
<snip>I've plastered the walls with pictures. Pictures of family, friends, places she's loved and visited, and pictures of the past. My husband kind of looks at me incredulously whenever I purchase a new frame to put more pictures on the wall - but it's the one thing that I can give her that I know will stay where it is put - and will perhaps mean something to her.<snip> When you run out of wall space (LOL) you can do what I did. I brought a plain white pillow case to one of those places that copies photos onto T-shirts and coffee mugs. And then mom's pillow on her bed had a family portrait on it. My mother loved that pillow. <snip> Old photos are the most valuable to me. So I am in the process of working on putting together a photo album for her to have at her place that includes lots of the old photos - of when she was a teenager, early married life, early family, etc. I think those will mean more to her than any of the rest of the stuff. You know? <snip> Ditto to me to. I went through the bulk of mom's pictures and picked the cream of the crop photos (over 100) and had them scanned onto CD for family + had paper colored-copies made onto 8 1/2 x 11 paper and made an album from a 3-ring binder (the front cover of the binder had a slot for one image and I put the family portrait shot there) - it allowed her album to be left in the nursing home without fear of losing valuable pictures b/c they were just copies. I had some of the best visits with my mom as we looked through that album together. And then with those pictures I had that mini-movie made. My folks LOVED pictures and even with divvying them out to my siblings & I -- have a HUGE trunk of priceless photos. I think they were a little too camera happy...
