Guest guest
I think i may have expressed my question the wrong way. i don't have a bladder infection (that i am aware of), but i do have the problem of bladder leakage - just to the point where i have to go right away. i do drink lots of water and it doesn't happen all of the time, but a cough could set it off, or taking a wrong step and catching myself in time, but it is impossible to prevent a tiny bit of leakage at times. perhaps you've had this situation. i know i've read that this is common for MS. but i have been susceptible to this since childbirth over 25 years ago, before i ever evidenced a single ms symptom. coincidentally, this is what set my discovery of ms off. i went to a urologist to see if there was any treatment for this. she named a couple of things, including an internal collagen injection to swell and restrict the flow of urine. she did a collagen test on my arm, injecting some to be sure i wasn't allergic. the very next week i got the numbness on the left side, including my face. this freaked me out! i called her,but she assured me that this wasn't a symptom of the collagen. i went to a chiropractor, thinking i had a pinched nerve. finally, a co-worker said that i had to get myself to a neurologist. so i went, had an interview and an mri and got the biggest surprise of my life (actually my worst nightmare, since my mom had ms and i thought i had successfully escaped it by age 44). so, not sure if this is ms-related or childbirth related, but what have folks done for this, apart from the typical medicines popular medicine advocates for this. i am so stressed just writing about this, that i am fogetting the names...detrol? oh, well. just wondering and i thought i needed to clarify my question. Guest guest
the following is taken from an HSI alert and maybe useful to you... Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now? This week I found a very friendly message in my e-mail inbox. It was sent by an HSI member named Carroll who has a tip for anyone coping with an overactive bladder. Carroll writes: " I would like to share some info I have personally discovered. Those many trips to the bathroom have been eliminated for me by parsley. I make a tea by rinsing a bunch (about 1 " across) and removing the bulk of the stems, boiling for a while and straining, leaving about 2 quarts of tea, which I drink. " The boiled parsley is compressed to remove the liquid, diced somewhat, placed on some whole wheat bread with a sprinkle of salt. I tried the tea only and found great improvement in urine flow and not needing to make those night time trips to the bathroom. But found much better results when I started eating the boiled parsley. " This will clear up urinary tract infections better than antibiotics at least for me. How nice to sleep thru the night. " And how nice to forgo an unnecessary round of antibiotics. Re: bladder (infection?) Guest guest
thank you, suzanne for the information on parsley. i am definitely going to try the tea. i kind of feel bad about boiling the herb, since i like to keep my nutrients intact, but i will just heat it up to a certain degree and then steep it for awhile. i will also eat the herbs left over. i do use parsley in my green smoothies, although not every day, and only a few sprigs. i will up this quantity, as well, and see what happens. i think someone else spoke of oregano (that might have been for an infection, but may have a tie-in somewhere to this whole thing). thanks again.
