Guest guest
Yesterday I was at the doctors with my son who was ill and I left in an ambulance because I fell to the floor. I knew this was coming, I could feel it, as my body became weak and I started to black out. Luckily my son and the Dr were standing close and saw me wobbling and safely lowered me to the floor. I lost consciousness very briefly and woke to every calling my name. This has happened to me several times before but most of the time, I feel the dizziness coming and quickly get the the floor before I go out. But this time, it came on so fast, there was no time and down I went. Of course, at the hospital, everything was fine. My potasium was slightly low as well as my white blood count but the drs didn't think this was what caused me to go out. I've heard others refer to drop attacks. Is this what happens and should I be concerned? I have had tethered cord surgery and cranial fusion but haven't returned to TCI for follow up appointments due to financial reasons. I do need to seek out a Dr who can deal with my issues, I know, but I would just like to know if this is a serious thing or common in those with chiari? It's a very scary thing to happen. The Emergency room did do a CT scan and checked for Pseudotumor cerebri, which he said was not apparent on the CT scan. I hesitate to take his word because it was at this hospital that my original MRI was done with no findings, only to be diagnosed later with chiari. Any input would be very helpful!!
