Guest guest
Hi all, I'm doing a herb walk and medicine making field trip with a bunch of school children ranging from 8-12 years old in the middle of April. I would love to hear ideas from anyone who has done anything similar. I want to use easily identifiable plants that will be available to them throughout their lives. I'm liking the daisy thread and thinking that might be a good idea. I also thought of a calendula salve to make on the day, something with plantain, bogbean decoction- just to see their little faces, and maybe a chamomile tea tasting I know some of you work a lot with children and if i could plagiarise any of your stories and anecdotes I'd be most grateful! cheers niamh. Guest guest
Hi Niamh A year or two ago there was an article in Herbal Thymes on just this subject. I think it was Caroline Galloway (but if I've got that wrong then hopefully the real author will forgive me). Article was about spending time in a school doing more or less what you have in mind. Hayley might be able to tell you who it was and you could contact her. My guess is these days you'd have problems with tasting - not just that they'd hate cham tea, but you might need to get permission from their parents. Maybe produce a consent form? I also recall nne Last doing something in a school but that would have been ages ago. good luck > > Hi all, > > I'm doing a herb walk and medicine making field trip with a bunch of school > children ranging from 8-12 years old in the middle of April. > > I would love to hear ideas from anyone who has done anything similar.
