Guest guest
I came across a site that described using the big " foam roller " for getting your back pain in check. I got mine back in 2002 when I first messed up my left shoulder and it moved into my neck. It was before my SM dx, and later even the CM, CCI, RO. Anyway PT showed me to how use this foam roll about 6-7 " in diameter and maybe 2 1/2' long of hard foam. They had me use it standing up with the roller at my back perpendicular to my spine against the wall, and moving it over my spine left/right back and forth. It was to help my joints get into my spine and align better. So a couple days ago I saw a site Livestrong.com where they showed how to use the foam rollers lying on the floor. (go to Fitness, search on " foam roller back exercise " for options.) There are articles and videos on how to use them in different ways. It really got the hard kink out where my rib hurt in back. It unkinked it, BUT I'm sore still and I ice my back mucles with gel pack and take anti-inflammatory. So just an idea if you have one of these. You really have to be careful with your neck neck and head's weight though. And most of all only use it for a couple minutes cause it can make you really sore. I plan on using it today again, the 3rd day in a row. I think my rib was out there just below my shoulder blade. It kind of massages me around my spine.
