,

I think you need to get an ok from someone at the AD organization to do that.

We have had some stuff in the past with the AD organization and they may get mad

if you do it without AD approval.

Our LBDA needs to do their own thing and maybe they will come up with a fund

raiser that will let the caregivers do some of that kind of thing. How about

you send the Board at LBDA a suggestion of any idea you might have to do a

fundraiser?

I just think we need to be careful not to step on the AD's toes. We have just

made some progression in working with them in some areas. is working

with them in the UK. And Carol is working with them in Florida.

Donna R

Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in

a nh.

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.

Memory Walk MA

So here's my plan... Alz Assoc. is having a Memory Walk in MA.

Obviously they're raising money for Alz... So I was thinking that I'd

do the walk -- play by the rules and raise money for Alz. BUT pass out

flyers about LBD and wear a T-shirt that reads " Ask Me About LBD, Lewy

Body Dementia " (or something like that). Maybe when I'm getting

sponsors I can let them know my plans and then I can give 1/2 to Alz.

Assoc. and 1/2 to LBDA... Any other ideas? :)

I can call myself " Moe's Team " -- remember? Go Moe! Go Moe! :)

This sounds like a great idea but I'm worried that perhaps the organizers

won't be too happy about the T-shirt???????

, I have just gotten around to looking at your site. It looks good.

I wouldn't be able to help but just a little. The only thing is I would

rather send a check, and that doesn't seem to be allowed. I do not send my

credit

card number over the internet. I haven't learned to feel safe with it yet. Is

it?

Please know that I didn't post the link to request donations. Just

wanted to show you all what my plan is in spreading the word about LBD.

But if you insist - from the web page there is a form to print to mail

a check in. If you need further info you can send me a personal email.

I'll have to read it a little closer. I think it is a good thing, and wanted

to help if just a little bit. Every little bit helps. I want to see our LBD

association get all the help it can, because my dear one suffers from it, and

I want to see progress made in finding ways to ease his illness, even if not

cure it right now. But, in time find the cause and a cure for it.

Well, that do make a difference. I have donated to LBD by check, and

indirectly by sending Sharon M. A few pieces of clothing to sell, then give a

portion of the funds (just pennies in this case) to LBD. Every little bit

helps.

I appreciate it -- but as a reminder, the money raised goes to Alz.

Assoc., MA Chapter, not LBDA. What I'm doing for LBD is raising

  • 2 weeks later...

BTW -- didn't mention that the NH my mom is at will have a team during

the Memory Walk too. And I just found out that they're having a table

set up too -- about music therapy. This NH is great with their music

therapy. They have two FT girls who perform to the residents daily. Mom

loves it...
