Speaking of Astra Zeneka, if any of you are on Symbiacort, Astra Zeneka will now give out free Symbiacort directly. My pharmacy printed out the paperwork for me, and I filled it out. Now my Doctor fills out his part, and I will get free Symbiacort for a year.

This is something new as far as I know. I wanted to share this with everyone.

Oh, and Astra Zeneka is now moving to a phase where they are discontinueing ALLEGRA for allergies. I use to get that free from Astra Zeneka, but the company called me and they also sent my pharmacy notice that they are now discontinuing making it. They said they will supply it until reserve of Allegra is gone. But wanted you all to know that as well.

The mdi is the only form of pulmicort Astra Zeneka is discontinuing according to that website I looked at. It's a manufacturing issue with the inhalers and not the medication.

Interesting, I guess the liquid form for the nebulizer will also be available. Anyone seen anything on the liquid?

The pulmicort mdi is similar to Proair or other metered dose inhalers. The pulmicort mdi is being discontinued because of manufacturing problems only, and the turbuhaler, dry powder thing is still available. I googled this and found it in a search.

OK, is this the common inhaler we all use, or the other kind?

Pulmicort MDI discontinued

Pulmicort MDI is being discontinued - I don't know if it's just here or in other countries also. It will still be available in powder form. If anyone takes it it might be an idea to check with your doctor that it's not being discontinued elsewhere

That's good to know. Astra Zeneka used to offer a Symbicort discount only for

low income people. This new offer seems to be extended to everyone.

I'm on Medicare Part D, and the cost of Symbicort puts me in the donut hole

toward the end of every year. Then I have to pay full price until the following

January. It would be good to have help paying for it during those months.

Have any of you ever heard of the Extra Help Program. I am assuming this program is country wide. You go to the Social Security Office where ever you live and ask for the forms to fill out. I am disabled and on medicare, and an HMO. But, because I get so many meds this helps me pay for them. Also if you are on this you will not go into the donut hole. It is because you are on this program. You will have to give all the usual government info on income, but it is worth it if you can qualify. So far I have never paid more than $8.00 for a prescription. It is worth a try. Thanks and God Bless, willothewispl@....From: slats222000 To: asthma Sent: Wed, March 9, 2011 11:01:19 AMSubject: Re: Astra Zeneka
