Ev society : Egypt, Crete, Greece etc has gone in for an 'aristocracy' n they all crumble into dust as time goes by. Now the Age of Aq = truly = the Age of the Common Man. We will have 2000 years to grasp that the light that shines in everyone is the SAME LIGHT! So what we do to another, we are doing to ourselves. So-called primitive people grasped this unconsciously n held nature sacred as well. Now the slow cycle seems to be pointing to our rediscov this CONSCIOUSLY! The so-called pagans knew this n more besides but the price for religions n civilization is the shadow of power. Even Hinduism w/all its wisdom indulged in a caste system. Power, greed, cruelty,lust etc are still w/us; it seems humanity goes to school here n we all are going to wake up dead some morning n wonder most likely what we were able to bring w/us! No love is ever wasted. Lest I sound like Ecclesiastes :} The love we have received n given. Love dissolves into beauty, work, kindness, appreciation, patience, wonder, grief, joy........perhaps this is the gold we get to keep? Like fire on a candle, the more u give away, the more there is of light n warmth. Obvious. The great secret is to see that processes are what symbolism moves through. What is the wick in us? If u look down at a candle, can u not find that circle w/the dot in the middle? The Div Guest? the symbol for the sun/gold in astron n metallurgy? Aha! U are right - we are all human, w/same basic temperature n pattern once u get beneath the skin, but it is the very uniqueness of every soul incarnating that makes life so INTERESTING! The paradox for me is that ev chart has the same ingredients but no two are alike! The older I grow, the greater the wonder and awe I have for creation - it's mindboggling! I am half Ashkenazi (poor father he had to put up with a lot since my mothers' family was Sephardim and had an illustrious written history . It was always a bone of contention since my poor father's ancestry came from Czechoslovakia (part of the Austrio-Hungarian Empire.and, in Vienna after the great migration from the east, this was a no no.I know about the Germanic Jews opinion that they were the best, its all a matter of focus anyway. I also, dear Alice, need no introduction to WASPS. When one classmate told me with nose in the air that her forefathers had come over on the Mayflower, I said too bad, we came over on a luxury liner that was much more comfortable in 1939. After all what can you expect from a New England private school as you well know. I believe the ditty in Boston is " Boston, dear old Boston the home of the bean and the cod, where the Cabots speak only to the Lowells, and the Lowells speak only to G-d. " I don't mind at all the splitting up of the human race by skin color if it doesn't bother anyone, but we seem to have a problem with who is better than who. In Japan, the myth goes, " G-d put three lumps of clay into the oven. One came out too light so they were the white race, one came out too dark, stayed in too long and became the Black race and only one was just right, The yellow race. " The children of the Sun. WE all seem to have a problem, don't we? None of us wants to be just " the common man " I firmly am devoted to my tribe and the heritage of learning and piety. But I have a good memory and still run a little scared due to past experiences and will probably never be able to shake that off. That's OK, it reminds me constantly to be everlastingly grateful. I giggle over reincarnation. First I told my husband, next time I will be the husband, and then, dear Lord, what color will we both be? That is not totally in jest, as I do believe in reincarnation as much as anything else we cannot prove. It suits me.I somehow think we will do it over until we get " it " right. Karma makes sense to me. I also think that sometimes the past evils, tend to remain tender spots in the next incarnation, maybe we are more aware of how awful it is to hurt others. I think of that love, everytime I read in some psychology book how important the first years of life are to the future of that newborn. And how few of us were aware of that then. I guess we did it instinctively, but I shudder for those with that instinct dulled. In my own life, I am always surprised at the love that comes toward me, and to me. I know we must first be loved( regardless of what kind of love) before we can love in return, and I am thankful that I was one of those lucky(?) ones who inspite of being gravely ill during that first year got a lot of love...or I wouldn't have so much to give away now. Still, I have not enough and need lots of G-d's love to make up for it.
