Guest guest
Hi - Welcome to the caregivers group. May I strongly urge you to second guess the Lorazepam? My dad had been given Lorazepam (Ativan) before my knowledge of it being a horrible drug for LBD and as soon as I learned how terrible the effects could be I had it stopped. The damage had already been done and I am sure it was the reason for rapid decline in my dad. My dad passed away 9 months after Lorazepam had been stopped. The damage had already been done and there was no turning back. It has/had adverse and irreversible effects. Please keep us updated as to how your dad is doing. With hugs- Sandie Des Moines, IA dad, Merle, passed from LBD, 9-20-02, age 65 -- Re: Progression of Dementia after Stroke Hello , Dad is on Lorezapam 2X daily, also risperidone - I don't know the dosage. He has been given 2 mg of Haldol when he is agitated, combative, or wandering into other patients rooms during the night. It seems he has been given Haldol on a average of about every 2nd day for about 3 weeks now. It seems to take a couple days to wear off. Welcome to LBDcaregivers.
