Guest guest
Interesting Article from CBR regarding strokes in children. What strikes me is the risk factors for stroke in children is autoimmune and bowel disease - sounds like our kids huh? http://www.cordblood.net/under_microscope/october_2008.htm Also made me think of Dr. Moulden - very interesting. Guest guest
I read this today and thought of the same thing and how they are using stem cells to treat, MABEY if mouldens stuff shows promise THIS would be another option for our kids Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 OT: Strokes in Kids Interesting Article from CBR regarding strokes in children. Guest guest
Just an interesting thing ... I was watching Private Practice last night and they had a little boy with autism on the show. The doctor thought that the boy was having small stokes or seizures during the night that nobody sees. His communication went away then he withdrew from everyone because of lack of communication. He did a trial of the kid using a corticoid steroid and the kid got better. He had all the regressive autism markers but was treated in an unconventional way that HELPED him. I just thought it was nice that they went out of the box and hit on the fact that our kids have other things going on inside of them that need to be treated in other ways and that autism can be treated! Wasn't expecting that to be on the show, the program info didn't say anything about autism. Now if only we could walk into a pediatricians office and have the doctor just say that they think it could be something else going on in their bodies and just run the nessesary tests and find answers that actually help our kids! That episode is how it Should be taking our kids to the doctor! Just thought I'd share that! Guest guest
Can't wait to watch it...I DVR it each Wednesday. I have seen other medical issues come up on that show and was impressed with the progressive treatments they've used. It does make the show credible, since the "private practice" is supposed to specialize in non traditional forms of treatment Subject: Re: OT: Strokes in KidsTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Thursday, October 30, 2008, 3:29 PM Just an interesting thing ... Guest guest
I wish I watched that. Darn! The stroke theory is interesting. Guest guest
I always thought there was a possibility of "mini-strokes" also still think somehow related to Alzheimer's.....going to try aniracetam....for me too...my aging brain might work more efficiently with "smart" drugs. Also can hardly wait until they find something AWESOME to do with stem cells. We banked my GS cord cells at birth but some of the transplants or infusions going on in Costa Rica has not impressed me much. Some parents say "some progress" and it is also tens of thousands of dollars I can't afford. I am waiting to be WOWED by something that is so darned charged with positive results before I thaw those puppies out or mortgage my house!
