Kathy: I'll have to tell you the jeans episode we

had. My husband's waist remained the same, but he had

no hips at all. No matter how tight the belt, his

jeans would start to slide down. We were in Walmart

one day, and I was pushing the grocery cart out, he

was behind me. I turned around, and there were his

jeans sliding down around his ankles. I ran around

behind him and got them pulled up and told him to hold

on at the waist until I got him to the car. It was so

embarassing. I don't know how many people saw it, as I

just got out of there as fast as I could.

June, you'll have to forgive me but I was laughing when I read this!!!!!! Your

poor hubby. I probably would have said out loud something like " Honey, I told

you that the auditions for Chippendale's isn't until 9:00 tonight! " .

I can laugh about it now, but boy then, I wasn't

laughing. And, he wasn't even aware of it or

embarassed by it.

I totally understand the " fit " of it all as well. My dad had done the same.

June,

I use to go to the NH and Mom would be sitting in the middle of the hall with

nothing on from the waist up. I would put her in double gowns. one frontward

and one backward. She couldn't remove that. This from a woman who I had never

seen in her nightgown!

Thank goodness for dementia so they would never know. I still say the cg has a

harder time than the person with dementia.

a nh.

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.

Hi all, keeping the jeans up was very funny, June. All of you are telling me

I have to get elastic waist [pants and soon. My darlings butt has almost

shown several times. He has lost a lot of weight, and has no hips either. He

wads his pants inside his belt, and of course that looks terrible.

If I talk about new pants, he'll balk and say his pants are just fine. He

seems to want the same familiar pants. I snuck in a couple of pairs of warm-up

pants, and he loves those in the winter.

I haven't found anything for summer, or for dress up. I think the Habband

co. (SP) had cheap pants like that at one time. I have not seen them in the

stores, but then I don't get out to shop very often.

I sure don't want to get into the fix you were in with your father's pants

dropping in the store.

section. We have replaced most of Dad's pants with the full elastic

waist ones they sell and we've been very happy with them. Dad really

liked their cotton PJ's we got him too (well mostly). He would shoot

me if he knew I told anyone this...what he doesn't like is that the

fly front doesn't come down far enough if you get my drift. I didn't

of course but I wanted to scream " what difference does it make.

You're wearing a disposable brief that doesn't have a fly front

anyway. " Oh well, go with the flow right...no pun intended :-)
