Guest guest
A single PA view of the left wrist and hand is compared to the radiographic (s/l atlas) of skeletal development by Greulich and Pyle. The bone age corresponds to 10 years. The patient's chronologic age is 9 years 10 months. One standard deviation is 10.8 months. My question here would be radiographic " atlas " . I am familiar with Greulich and Pyle as being the method by which skeletal maturation is determined/evaluated; however, the " atlas " (as in map??) is throwing me. My docs have never used this with reference to their bone age studies. Could it be?

" Radiographic Atlas of Skeletal Development of the Hand and Wrist " is the title of the text by the two above-named authors; I wasn't familiar with it, either, but a web search on the key words brought back scores of " hits, " all at college bookstores. :-) Chuck -- Please note e-mail change of address to USWest.Net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Chuck Mattsen mailto:mattsen@... http://www.mindspring.com/~mattsen http://www.handtech.com/ChuckMattsen =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Random Thought/Quote for This Post: Practice yourself what you preach.
