Guest guest
Lynette, I got my disability on the first try....but please know...I didn't get it for fibro....I got it for irreversable labrynthine dysfunction, vertigo and depression. Basically what that means is that I " spin " all the time and they don't know why and I became very depressed over it and wanted to die for a very long time. (sometimes I still feel that way, but I'm trying hard to stay on this earth) My vertigo came on suddenly the end of May 2002...I applied the first week of June 2002 and was approved in October of 2002. There is a mandatory 5 month waiting period. They did find that I became disabled in May...but I was not eligible for payment until October because of the 5 month waiting period. The best advice I can give to anyone applying is: jump through all their hoops in the way that they ask, stand tough and NEVER give up or back down. They deliberately try to make it as difficult and humiliating on you as they can so you will give up. DON'T GIVE UP. Blessings, Pixi > Besides wondering if your fibro is getting worse, for those of you > who have done it, could you tell me how long it took to get your > disability, and how many times you were turned down? > Love > Lynette
