Lynn, This medication depletes the following along with salt/ water............we found this out by studying the 1,966 FDA adverse reactions to PEG

magnesium

calcium

potassium

electrolytes

Many think that if you replenish the magnesium, they get better (meaning the tics, tremors)

This is what we're concerned about...........if you replenish these, why do we still see them? Is it permanent? Many on here including myself believe it is! Many have reported that different tics such as hand flapping, clucking of the tounge, obsessive compulsive behaviors such as licking the fingers etc. seem to come and go throughout the years long after they took it. This is why the FDA is investigating just this..............see attached

Pediatric Neuologists say that it should replenish itself if one hits the hyponatremia stage (lack of salt / water imbalance in the brain) What does one do when it's been months, even years, and we are still seeing these behaviors that clearly only started upon starting this medication.

My son started his tics the end of June and we stopped using Miralax the middle of July and his tics have continued. He has had an EEG (to rule out seizures) and blood work done and everything has come back normal. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything we can add or delete from our son's diet to help the tics subside? So far we have only stopped all the red food dyes. Thanks
