Meg-

I am so sorry to hear that your husband and you are having to deal with so much.

First the fall requiring stitches and now the blood clot. Life for a person and

their family is never smooth. Bummer!

My Dad had a blood clot in his leg. They could not treat him with blood

thinners because he was recovering from a massive brain injury. There was the

threat of additional hemorrhage if treat with anticoagulants. It was a catch

22 situation. Treatment was bedrest, yet inactivity was not good anyway. In 2

weeks he did recover.

I pray for your husbands sspeedy recovery.

XOXOXO

Meg - I'm sorry, but haven't had to deal with a blood clot with my mom.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for your husband and that he gets

home ASAP. You and your husband will be in my thoughts & prayers.

Hi, Meg,

It sounds like you really have your hands full right now. That seems to be

the way things happen with LBD. My dad was hospitalized with a blood clot

twice during his battle with LBD. The first time was four years ago. They did

all kinds of tests and could not find a reason for it. He had never been in

the hospital in his life, and was healthy as a horse, except for the LBD. Of

course, no one at the hospital had ever heard of LBD at the time. The

second time he had the blood clot was a year ago. Again, they could find no

reason

for it. Dad got all out of sorts in the hospital, so I brought him home

within two days on the second clot. I could care for him better at home than

in

the hospital, and a nurse came to the house to give him the blood thinner

shots twice a day. Let us know how things are going when you can.

Hugs,

Piper

I had a blood clot. It can strike anyone, anytime. People who are inactive for

long periods ot time in a bed, in a chair, in an airplane... are at risk.

People who are active, get a deep bruise, are not properly hydrated, are at

risk. Oddly, athletically active young people have an elevated risk during

travel, whether by plane, train, or automobile.

During the " Desert Storm " operation one reporter who was riding in a tank with

the soldiers stepped out of the tank and dropped dead of a blood clot.

You did good, getting him treatment right away. It isn't part of a general

meltdown, but it is a serious situation.

Just what you needed, eh? Another can of worms.

Please keep us posted.

I just want to remind us computer lovers to get up and stretch frequently. We

tend to lose track of time while sitting in front of our computers.
