Guest guest
the first nh dad was in the had bedrails up on any bed that they didnt want the patient up and around, in teh second and better nh they had a variety of mattresses, incluindg some that had rails if the patient was bed bound, and theaptient also wore a badge taht could tell if they were falling out of or trying to get out of bed, some of the patients that had a fall risk but still were somewaht mobile they had their mattresses on some of the rubber underpads so the mattress wouldnt slide as the patient got up or fell into bed. this worked great for one old man who was there when daddy died. hugs sharon -- a smile a day, keeps the meanies away!!!! ---- Donna Mido wrote: Jan, When I worried that my Mom would crawl over guard rails and asked what they do at the nh, they told me they put the mattress on the floor> I never thought of that. But I sure thought it was a good Idea. Donna R Do you want to read more about Lewy Body? You can also read the Thistle, the LBD Newsletter.
