Guest guest Posted October 8, 2011 Report Share Posted October 8, 2011 My own nonverbal communication is often highly inconsistent with my inner mental state, thereby communicating all sorts of mixed messages to the world. It's been a serious obstacle for me throughout life, whether it be in social situations, relationships, or on the job. Because of my heightened awareness of the degree to which my body language and tone of voice is so often misunderstood, I was terrified that I might become a suspect in my husband's death when notified by law enforcement. Fortunately, my husband took great care to leave behind a useful trail of breadcrumbs that would be less likely to falsely implicate others in his suicide. I've been told that these sort of communication inconsistencies are very common among NLD and Aspergers folks.
