Donna,

Any time you have chest pain, it is a good idea to call your doctor. Often it

is GERD or acid reflux that causes it though.

According to my ENT, sinus drainage increases the symptoms from GERD. He has me

using a sinus lavage system twice a day. I started with NeilMed Sinus Rinse in

the squeeze bottle, and now use a special tip for my Water Pik on a low setting

that my rheumatologist recommended. This breaks up the gunk in the morning and

rinses out pollen and pollutants in the evening to make breathing easier. He

scoped me and showed me that my nasal passages were fire-engine red at the

beginning of the one month trial, and then how normal they looked at the end of

the month. That really sold me. I love it because I get results without the

side-effects that decongestants used to give me. I also use the NeilMed saline

nasal gel spritzer to moisturize during the day.

If I get lazy and don't rinse twice a day, I can actually end up with severe

nausea and end up throwing up mucus. Not fun.

I use two packets of the sterile salt/baking soda solution if I'm congested, and

just one in 8 ounces of water if I'm not. Even with nearly total congestion,

the double salt pack lavage opens me up in just a few minutes.

If you don't have a similar product in Wales, there are recipes for salt and

baking soda mixes on the internet.

never try to ride out chest pain if you arent 100% sure why your chest hurts. And yes, stress is a factor in chest pain. Go see your GP or if he cant see you go to the A & E

I recently went to the hospital with chest pain so bad I couldn't breathe, it wasn't asthma, it wasn't heart, it wasn't gurd, it was my hiatal hernia, and the heart specialists told me that the hiatal hurnia can cause pain that this twice as painful as a heart attack, but, until you go and they check you all out, it may be a heart attack, please take care!To: asthma Sent: Fri, December 3, 2010 10:25:59 AMSubject: Re: Chest pain (just stress or more)

I'm new and enjoy this group very much.

Chest pains. . . I think I would call my doctor.

I was discharged from the hospital the 26th, woke up . . could not breathe. . no chest pains just no air.

I was not taking my medication right.  With all the stress you're going through did you take your medication right?

I'm takinfg several medications like you

I take Singulair, Advair, Nasonex and Proventil (haven't needed it since my hospital visit). I was like you and sprayed Proventil  4 times a day

I have chest pain all the time with Asthma. As soon as I get my asthma under control, the chest pain goes away. But you could have an underlying heart problem also, or something else; good thing to get it checked out.

I have taken my Ventolin 4 times already today, what should I do ride it out ????

I hope by the time you read this that you have gone to emergency. Yes, chest pain can be caused by stress, but chest pain should never be ignored (especially if you are not sure of the cause). Combine that with your low peak flows and you could very well be in trouble. Hoping you are well.

Hi all,

Can stress really be a a factor for causing chest pain, also I have so much secretions going down my throat from my Sinus's as they are so full of debris and blood I also have a been sick every night for past month which can have blood stained muck in it, My peakflow was 550 and now its gone down to 150-250 I currently have really bad head ache at present feels like sinus are playing up.

I am very stressed in work due to festive season starting snow not much but very cold here its -3 already.

My medications are:

Nasonex nasal spray,

Cetizine 10mg in morning

Symbicort turbo inhalor 220 two puff morning and evening,

Ventolin when required,

Singluar 10mg at night

Doseulpin 75mg one at night,

Should I see my Gp currently taken Clairthroymcin (not sure of spelling) chest pain is currently getting worst.

I have taken my Ventolin 4 times already today, what should I do ride it out ????

I also find drinking a lot of hot tea and hot baths helps as well. And yeah, bronchitis will definitely cause chest pain...I have gotten costrochondritis from coughing so bad more than once. But then I like to take a really hot bath when I dont feel good...

Hi all,

If you can afford it, go to the doctor or the ER, don't ignore chest pain. For

me, they just pulled me off of my insurance (Rats!), so I can't go to the ER! I

hope I live long enough to get Medicare!
