Guest guest
, It sounds beautiful. If appropriate, I'd love to see it sometime. " " <octoryrose@yahoo .com> To Sent by: LBDcaregivers LBDcaregivers@yah cc oogroups.com Subject I'm Excited OT 03/18/2007 08:56 AM Please respond to LBDcaregivers@yah oogroups.com Today I'm having a meeting with someone from http://www.hindsightmedia.net -- we're going to work together and make a 4-6 minute mini-movie of my mom. It's something that I've wanted to do and feel it might be therapeutic and bring a little closer to her passing. The mini-movie will consist of: * Photos (30-40 of the best - got about 80 need to bring the # down LOL); * Clips from home movies (there were only 3 with mom in them... wish my folks did the home movie routine growing up, oh well, the 3 I have was from a TV show my mom & I were on (a talk show about mom & her ballet studio - I was there (at 8 yrs old) to show the moves HA HA); 1985's Xmas Eve with the smallest cousins performing the nativity scene for the family - mom was the director; and my parent's 40th Wedding anniversary in 1996) * Mom's favorite music (another thing I need to bring down -- have way too much -- but will make sure that Boccelli, Swan Lake, and I Love You, a Bushel & a Peck is included) * Artwork for background (have a few pieces of her drawings that can be used as background) other background images will be african violets, orchids, seagulls (she loved Livingston Seagull), religious artifacts * And at the end the excerpt from her journal that I read at the funeral (The Spanish Dancer) and have a Spanish comb & fan for background... and not sure of the music -- but found the song I wanted for her funeral " Going Home " in its classical version by Dvorak - so the words may be too depressing - but the classical music would be better appropriate and at least I'll know the words in my head. B/c that's what I believe -- she's just gone home -- and I'll see her again when it's my time to go home... Hopefully in the short time, I'll be able capture something meaningful. Guest guest
I just got the first draft of mom's mini-movie and it's PERFECT (well almost, just a few tweaks and it'll be done) Bill at Hindsight Media (http://www.hindsightmedia.net) did an awesome job. I've asked for it in Quick Time as well, so if he's able to do that than I'll let you know -- and if you're interested in watching it I'll email it... Bill did a few things on his own and differently than requested. The big one was choose the last song played and it was a bit from Israel Ka'ano'i Kamakawiwo'ole's medley of Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World. It was perfect to end with and it made me cry. You can hear the song here: http://lover4ever.unblog.fr/abandonner/somewhere-over-the-rainbow/ The words he used were: I hear babies cry and I watch them grow, They'll learn much more Than we'll know And I think to myself What a wonderful world (w)oohoorld Someday I'll wish upon a star, Wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where trouble melts like lemon drops High above the chimney top that's where you'll find me Oh, Somewhere over the rainbow way up high He also did some creative things with my mom's drawings and using it as background.... I've watched it many times already and smile, laugh & cry every time... Oh gee, it was suppose to be a 4-5 min. mini-movie -- and it's over 7 min. OOPS! And he ended it with a quote from the book " The Cloud of Unknowing " (mom LOVED that book and it was written by a " contemplative " and she was described in her funeral by the priest as one... although the quote is about meditating, and I'm taking it out of context, I think it still works. Do you? Where then, you say shall I be? Nowhere by this tale! Exactly you say this well, for there would I have you. For nowhere physically is everywhere spiritually. Guest guest
Hi , That's great that you are so happy with the movie...another wonderful tribute to your mother. It sounds like you and Bill did a wonderful job putting the memories together and that Bill was able to add a few surprises for you that captured her essence. I'd love to see it if you get it in Quick Time. You are so creative. Guest guest
, For some strange reasson, I didn;t get the email about your neat " movie. " Maybe it was while I was out of town. I am glad she responded so I did see it. Sounds delightful.. And heard the music. Beautiful! Sounds like you two work well together. Hope to get a chance to see it, maybe? Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. Guest guest
, Could you please share? I've contemplated doing something similar to this - we have a pretty large family and I think it would be meaningful for all of us.
