I'm thinking the they have the cart before the horse here. The low levels of

vitamins are probably from the stress of asthma depleting the bodies stores of

the vitamins. But it might lead to a special vitamin formula for asthmatics.

One tab if you have mild asthma, two if you have severe.

Just a thought.

Well...I dont know Kay. I know vitamin A has a role in tissue building as does vitamin D. Vitamin C is not stored in the body other than what the body needs b/c that is a water soluble vitamin whereas A,D, E and vitamin K are all stored in your liver. Vitamin deficiencies can lead to a boatload of stuff, but I dont know if asthma is vitamin deficiency caused. I believe there might be an association, but Im not sure it is the cause. A few questions raise in my head about this article...specifically regarding the meds a person is taking. A severe asthmatic may be on more steroid drugs than someone who is mildly or moderately asthmatic. Some meds will deplete other nutrients. Also, the patients diets need to be taken into consideration as well.

Just my thoughts...

I think for some people deficiencies may be a component (even a cause), but I am not deficient in either vitamin. My asthma has definitive causes that have nothing to do with deficiencies. This disease just does not have a "one size fits all" label.MadelineTo: asthma Sent: Mon, October 4, 2010 10:32:32 AMSubject: Is asthma one of the vitamin deficiency diseases?

I agree. Mine is not from a deficiency, it is from a blood clot.
