Guest guest
Hi , Where is the pain and what kind of pain are you experiencing? Personally, I can't take pain pills as I have bad reactions to pain drugs plus they usually come back up. If you have muscle and joint aches and are only taking a T4 med that suggests you also need T3. I had horrible joint and muscle pain plus horrendous swelling on synthetic T4 drugs. Also, a magnesium deficiency can increase pain especially in the muscles and joints. I hope you find answers, ~Bj > > What do your doctors give you ladies for pain management and inflammation. > > Mine just put me on diclofen for right now since I am in so much pain and > inflamed. Guest guest
Also, , I want to add that a potassium and/or sodium deficiency will cause muscle and/or joint aches. Have you had a CMP -Comprehensive Metabolic Panel- done lately? ~Bj > > > > What do your doctors give you ladies for pain management and inflammation. > > > > Mine just put me on diclofen for right now since I am in so much pain and > > inflamed. Guest guest
I have pain in my back, legs, arms ~ many places I am on the generic for synthroid. I think the the more gluten free the better it is too. Guest guest
Yes, I agree staying gluten-free helps. It still sounds like you are lacking T3, what was your FreeT3 level at last labs? Joint and muscle pain normally worsen without adequate T3. My whole body ached. A healthy body can convert the most plentiful but inactive thyroid hormone T4 into T3, which is 4-5 times more potent than T4; and T3 is the most active thyroid hormone. You will die without T3. If you can not readily convert T4 to T3 you will be symptomatic and feel very badly. There are a number of reasons that a Hashi person can't properly convert and needs to directly take T3. The flawed theory is that T4 is converted in the body by everyone, but once the immune system is damaged that doesn't always happen. If you continue to have lingering symptoms like achy joints, memory problems and/or brain fog, swelling and inflammation, can't lose weight, cholesterol issues, low temps, thinning hair and/or outer eye brows, low energy, low level depression, and some patients taking T4 only meds have ended up with a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia (like I was) and more. ISTM, we had this conversation before, does your doctor only test TSH? If so, find a doctor that tests Free T3 and Free T4 and treats with T3 and ASAP. Or your health will likely keep sinking. I ended up bedridden on T4 only meds within a year. For you it may take longer, you may also get the CFS/FM dx along the way. My CFS/FM disappeared within two weeks after starting on T3. I hope this helps, ~Bj > > > > What do your doctors give you ladies for pain management and inflammation. > > > > Mine just put me on diclofen for right now since I am in so much pain and > > inflamed. I was just wondering what you all take. > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Less gluten does help. Also celery, braggs vinager, and stay away from sugar I take celebrex when I am bad. I also bought a matress cover that has heat that you can adjust on one side of the bed or both. I use it every night and it helps my body relax. If you can getting massages and taking baths with epsom salt. Try stretching before you go to bed and in the am. Hope you feel better soon Ciao-Ange Subject: Re: pain/ inflammationTo: Thyroiditis Date: Thursday, January 20, 2011, 1:13 PM I have pain in my back, legs, arms ~ many places I am on the generic for synthroid. Guest guest
Isn't it interesting how things come up at the right time? I am currently seeking out a thyroid doc. no appt yet made. I've had some recent TSH tests - my numbers are low - but my symptoms are mixed hypo and hyper. This past week - my WHOLE body started hurting. I've gained 11 lbs in the last month (not all deserved! tho I am moving a whole lot less because I hurt and am so tired). It feels like I've been injected with pain just under my skin...mostly in my torso - around ribs but also my neck, my face even a bit. I just ache. I wasn't really thinking this was thyroid...but I came to this list and now see maybe it is! I don't think it's my diet....I eat mostly vegetables, fruits and beans. NO sugar. very little grain and nothing different than normal. I hope we all feel better soon. I can't think (so can't sit and read or anything like that), I can't move - because I hurt to much.... and I can't even sleep to avoid it all - because I simply can't sleep. sighhh. very done with this. Guest guest
have you been testing from Fibromyalgia? sounds like you are having a flare up? make sure you stay warm and keep you neck covered. If your neck gets stiff plus your face you need to see a doctor to make sure you dont have bells palsy..you also might have TMJ. Do you grind your teeth? been under stress. two years ago I went through the same thing - I saw three doctors who all had a different opinion and it took over a month of being on meds and seeing my chiroprator to feel better and my fibro doctor who gave me a shot in my shoulder area kinda where your bra strap on top hits. Sounds like regardless you need some anti inflammatorys Ciao-Ange Subject: Re: pain/ inflammationTo: Thyroiditis Date: Thursday, January 20, 2011, 1:13 PM I have pain in my back, legs, arms ~ many places I am on the generic for synthroid.
