Guest guest
I started having severe dizzy spells this time, the doctor says is lack of oxygen to the brain and to not go anywhere until I'm well and keep people around me, take my meds or I'll end up in the hospital. My question is have any of you ever noticed severe dizzy spells so bad that you couldn't stay on your feet, was unsteady on your feet or fell? I almost didn't make it to my car last night but my rescue inhaler was right there and pulled me out of it after 4 puffs. What do you think? Any ideas, any experiences? I have severe asthma and some emphysema. My spirometer (spelling) has been less than 300 for the past 17 years, 300 at tops with all the medicines I can pour in. Over the last 2 years I seem to have gotten worse although the spirometer has not changes except when I had pneumonia 2 years ago, I didn't think I'd make it. After that I noticed a decline in breathing and started taking spiriva until the pharmacies quit letting the doctors have so many samples and my insurance won't pay for it - then when I went off it I got really bad, could not walk 50 feet without all kinds of problems so the doc put me on the nebulizer with ipratropium bromide and albuterol sulfate - this can easily bring up the spirometer to 250 or 300. Just now have bronchitis, I think it started with strep throat, not sure - I was exposed to it but not tested for it, the worst sore throat in my life. Well, here I sit exhausted, been fighting this for a week lost some work but did work when I could - I am self-employed and self supporting and have a teenage son. Just need some help sorting this out - I'm curious about the dizzy spells I've never had before. I will probably look over in the american lung society's web list as well. God bless you all!
