Guest guest
I also wanted to add that another symptom of HD is explosive bm's. If all the maintenance of keeping the stool is happening(no hard stuff in there) and then the build up and then it is all pushed out in an exposive type movement, so full it pushes past the HD area(typically first few inches up into the rectum). This would also be a sign if some have problems passing even with the use of enemas, doesnt work write away(our son can take hours until the following day to work, depends on how full he is).Now this is if all the stool in there is kept soft(explosive movements). My doctor is leary to test for this because he says it's rare for children to soil (encopresis) if they have this. We are going around and around with constipation issues for almost 4 years. I was going to post back in Dec. with a success story because I took my daughter off soy milk and started the chiro. She was on the potty 2-3 times a day with good BMs. Well, she just spiraled backwards quickly. After about 5 weeks of doing so well, she is not constipated again. This keeps happening. We go to the GI and he tells us to do 3-5 days of enemas, start toilet sitting again, up the fiber, etc., etc. He finally is going to do a sitz marker study now. If two weeks passes and she isn't great, he'll schedule colonoscopy, endoscopy, and rectal biospy. She has had constipation issues since 6 weeks, on Miralax since 10 months old. Thanks,
Guest guest
Wow, when I read the explosive BM comment, I thought that is her. We say she literally blows it up, you can hear it from the other room. Sometimes it will be gas, but sometimes it sounds like gas, but was a BM. Now, when she had her good weeks there in Dec. , she did have what Iw ould call a normal BM but also the explosives. Very intereesting. The dr. wants to do a rectal biopsy, coloscopy and endoscopy. I know the rectal is for the HIrschprungs. Thanks it is great talking to you.
