Guest guest
Hiyas meesa chiari amigos! Well, my pfd & ccf has been moved up! I am now scheduled to arrive in NY @ LGA on October 26th... My mom and I will be staying at the variety house and my daddy is flying up on Tuesday night to be with my mom while I am in surgery Wednesday... Monday I have pre-surgical testing, Tuesday I have invasive cervical traction and then Wednesday is the decompression and fusion... Quite frankly, I am terrified... Not so much terrified of the surgery, but of the pain control afterwards... When I had my tethered cord released, I fought like cats and dogs over my pain medication with them... I don't want to fight with them again... I don't know how to get it through their heads the dilaudid does not work on me, I am allergic to morphine and fetanyl is like sugar water... The only thing that works is Demerol and it takes a very large dose of it to work! So, how can I get it through their heads?? Any suggestions? I think I will write Dr. b a note before I go up and talk to him because I don't deal well with pain... I am a total wimp when it comes to pain!!! Laters, Holly Acm 1 Syringomyelia Tethered cord (released @ tci June 16, 2008) EDS

Yes, the PA's do help in this but ultimately if their are any problems with not getting pain relief, etc. the PM docs do that. When I was in for my 2 surgeries, did some PM but I always saw Vikas Varma, M.D. He is listed on TCI's website as their PM doctor. " Thanks, !! V.
