our genes are complex and contain tons of 'coding' :) for more than 1 body part

or system " ...

so they have found the HLA gene relates to/shares Hashis/Autoimmuen THryoid

disease and Celiac disease

but in just the last few years,, there is even more exciting, and complexity

being foudn:

for example

they now have found that Wheat/gluten and Candida( yeast!) that is normally

found in our body (at the health levels OR out of control yeast infections)

=-that these 2 materials share some of the same 'molecular structure "

brain fog i cant' remember the Gene' terminology

===

also just saw a link (from DR K /Kharrazian's thryoid site???)

noting that Coffee may be affecting the INtestinal health and affecting the GUT

LIning issues just like gluten can..

IOW coffee may be the real culprit for some/many patients

====

IOW this isn't all black and white :/

bad news cuz it means this is not clear cut

but good news for those of us who have never noticed a difference in how we felt

Aftger going Gluten-Free...

its Confusing :/ at a time when so many of us are sick and just wish doctors

knew

-Carol

PS

i went gluten free a few yeasr ago now.. and at first i didn't eat ANY

Processed/packaged foods... after a year or (2?) of no obviosu differences, i

changed and tho i do buy some processed foods that say they follow good GF

practices.. never noticed anything

0and i LOVE LOVE LOVE my cofffee more than ever.

and i do eat dairy =

2 things which may be i should have given up first :/

dont' know yet;; but just struck by the Coffee and diary discussions on DR K

website and labs etc.

thryoid problems/majorly high antibodies! Can anyone give me more info on

Carol,

Do you know if it is the caffeine content or the coffee itself? That is, would a

decent decaf coffee be just as bad?

i don't know; i haven't gone to study what they are saying; i only just learned

about this info a few days ago..

i know its on DR K s site/s but i believe that it is Other doctors/ researchers

Coffee causation potential, ouch!

I'm about 95% dairy free now.

Major digestive disorder though(not stomach acid production). So everything's more complex over that and malabsorption.

How high had you gotten on your iodine doses?

I just got off the stuff, so they aren't sure which is causing which completely.

I was told to stop eating wheat by my allergist. I didn't test allergic but he thought I had some sort of intolerance. I found it really helped, I felt better. I try to eat as little processed food as possible and limit how much sugar I consume.

I think everyone is individual in what you will respond to. I didn't feel any better cutting out dairy or sugar but I do feel better if I eat very low carbohydrates (things like rice etc). I did find I could eat spelt. It is a grain that is slightly related to wheat. It works like a low gluten all purpose wheat flour.

I think it is worth trying for a few weeks to see if you feel better. There are lots of gluten free alternatives at the grocery store if your unsure what to replace with. in SD

My naturopath says get 100% glutten free, it's extremely likely tied to my low thryoid problems/majorly high antibodies! Can anyone give me more info on that???? or experience!

i like DR Ks work and his admissions showing that the body is more complex than

just 1 thing or 1 aspect or gene or what ever..

but he unfortunately is doing the same thing as Conventional Medicince,, in that

he is stating that a test means 1 thing and 1 thing only...

for example:

from the LInk below:

his section on :

"

Transglutaminase IgA + IgM combined antibodies. Transglutaminase is an enzyme in

the digestive tract targeted in an autoimmune attack triggered by gluten. If

this marker comes back positive you know gluten is destroying gut tissue through

an autoimmune attack.

"

DR K is making a HUGE " mistake " stating that Transglutaminase test coming back

positive means you KNOW that Gluten is destroying gut tissue!

= once again; a DR is over-simplifying how the body works

either he simply does not KNOW or he is over-simplifying how the body works cuz

it makes his job easier== don't have to spend time reassuring patients that his

ideas are true for ALL patients :/

this " oversimplification " of who the body works,, by ALL Doctors,, is hurting us

patients =phsycially and mentally ,, keep wondering why a 'famous' doctors

treatments/ideas do not cure Our problem when its curing Some Other patients !

RE: Transglutaminase:

its an enzyme in the body of humans and other things :o

and our body makes Transglutaminase enzyme for more than 1 reason!

(just like everyhting else in the body pulls Double-duty ,,triple-duty ,

100x-duty :0

Expression of transglutaminase substrate activity on Candida albicans germ tubes

"

By serving as a microbial substrate for epithelial cell transglutaminase, Hwp1

(Hyphal wall protein 1) of Candida albicans participates in cross-links with

proteins on the _mammalian mucosa_

....

"

epithelial cells lines our entire digestive tract, reproductive tract and

respiratory tract

and ofcourse that includes mucose in various 'hollow tubes' of the body :0

==SO IOW>...

there is also a big chance that Antibiotics and other DRugs *(and stress!) that

affects/causes Candida /yeast imbalances

are the real cause of many ATD/Thryoid autoimmmune patients having 'gluten' and

'dairy' issues..

many , not all :)

the doctors are trying to say that Everyone has the same status in all systems

and all cells = it is not possible :) the human body and life expereinces are

too different for everyone to have the same cells/systems go wrong for the SAME

specific causes..

and i think right now,, that this Candida/Transglutaminase/hyphal wall problem

is why Some ATD patients feel great when stopping wheat /gluten and some of us

don't feel any different..

its cuz we have different underlying problems

ROd and I didn't say that iodine and gluten were not connected in some people.

but the point is that we don't ALL have the exact same " underlying'

Lily,

I'm looking for gluten free crackers and such, the bread was incredibly expensive. Maybe people are making it for themselves at home to save money or something. I'm not big into bread, I"m only going to mostly miss brownies. But I bet they can be made with rice flour.

Lily,

I'm looking for gluten free crackers and such, the bread was incredibly expensive. Maybe people are making it for themselves at home to save money or something. I'm not big into bread, I"m only going to mostly miss brownies. But I bet they can be made with rice flour.

My naturopath says get 100% glutten free, it's extremely likely tied to my low thryoid problems/majorly high antibodies! Can anyone give me more info on that???? or experience!
