Guest guest
We took Maddy back to the pediatrician because the lump on the right side of her abdomen had got bigger.Maddy pooped like crazy yesterday and today. The peditrician, not her regular one, said she didnt feel the lump so we pointed it out to her. She said well I feel a small lump she said it could be an adhesion that the end of the catheter could be sticking on it. She also said she thinks she may still be constipated and said she would order a xray of abdoman and a shunt series with dye to check where its all going. But they they changed their minds and did the xray which showed some poop still in there. My worry is that maybe the tubing somehow got to caught and if interefering with her intestines or something. We see the neurosurgeon on Monday who is working on a plan to take out the programmable shunt and replaced with the non programmable one. The pediatrician couldnt answer my questions. I asked her ok Maddy has been constipated before and her whole abdomen was hard and distended and she didnt complain about and pain and it didnt cause a lump on her belly which Maddy says pokes her. I am very worried that something will have to go terribly wrong before they do something,as I dont think this may have anything to do with neurosurgery. I will post an update later.
