Guest guest
What a bummer, April. It is so hard to find a match, isn't it? (No wonder they have EHarmony these days!) I noticed that the women we have used talk to my husband as if he is in kindergarten. I want to swat them. Oh well, it is a tough situation. Hope all goes well on the big test. Guest guest
April, we had a Hard time with cg too. We went thru 6 including donnie's sister ( that was a disaster)before we found sissy. Sissy became part of our family she still lives with us and hellps me when I am sick. Just keep trying. Call nursing schools as you may find someone who needs extra money and wants to learn as well, hugs sharon Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device FIL's Caregiver Well, things had been going pretty well for the past month with my FIL's caregiver coming in twice weekly for eight hours. However, she has called in " sick " the last few times. My MIL thinks that she doesn't like driving 45 min. to get to their house and is trying to find an excuse to get out of it. I even wonder if caring for my FIL is much more that what she had anticipated. Of course, you would think a caregiver would be ready to take on any sort of challenge. There was a substitute who was sent over yesterday (an Indian woman) to care for my FIL and my MIL said it didn't work out, at all. Evidently, my FIL phoned my MIL 4 times while she was out running errands. He didn't like the woman one bit, even though she's a RN. So, I'm not sure what my MIL will do now. I guess they'll have to try to get someone matched up with my FIL's personality and needs. It's a shame because he really liked his caregiver, but I think the combination of a long commute and a difficult workload has taken it's toll on her. Wish us well...my FIL undergoes the 4 hours of neuropsych. testing on Thursday of next week. He'll get the results and diagnosis on the 11th. I'll be sure to post what we learn, good or bad. Take care, April
Guest guest
If everyone likes this caregiver, would she like it better with more money and would it be worth it to offer her more. Sometimes it is more costly to try and find someone you like than to pay her an incentive to come this far. Guest guest
I don't know if my MIL could offer the caregiver more money and have it make a difference. She was hired through an agency, so I assume they handle the financial end of it. I just tend to think that the caregiver bit off more than she could chew. My FIL can be very demanding and I'm sure it was hard for her to deal with. April > > I agree wuth donnie!
