My name is Judy Mills and I am the grandmother of Khia Gray. She is now 12

Years old going on 25. Khia was diagnosed at age 7 and has made great

Strides

Since that time. Khia stays with me a lot so I am very in tune with her ups

And downs.

About 18 months ago we put her on meds for ADHD and have seen great success

In that area as well.

I had originally joined the group back 7 years ago, but am joining again.

OK, that is my intro.

  • 6 months later...

Hi,

I am new to the group. Mom to 2 sons, 4yr old ASD/SPD, and almost 3yr

old SPD. My 4yr old was prescribed Miralax about 4 wks ago by GI

doctor after Xray showed moderate backup. After reading the dr

directions and the bottle's directions, I almost called the office to

double check. 3 days on the full adult dosage (full cap) and then

half a cap daily until follow up appt in 3 months. I went ahead and

followed the dr directions (just under the full cap).

Since starting, I got results back from a comprehensive stool

analysis (done through a university research study), which seems to

show, as I expected, leaky gut. Also high pH and inconclusive for

yeast. I also found out about adverse reactions to Miralax and this

group on the SPD group.

My son has shown some regression in a couple of areas. Melting to the

floor and going limp when asked to do something- used to do this

often at 2 yrs, and crying easily. Also, pulling brother's hair and

banging on patio doors to scare the dogs. He has also shown some good

behaviors, wanting to clear his plate after meals and helping his

brother when asked. Like always, its a guessing game to figure out

what is going on- is it SPD cycle, being on break from preschool,

holiday foods/ more sweets than usual, etc.

Is there anything specific I should be looking out for- danger signs?

I haven't given him any Miralax for two days, but will be giving him

a 1/4 cap until next Thursday. That day is his endoscopy/biopsy.

After that, I plan on stopping completely and will be starting

enzymes, probiotics and possibley biotin.

Thanks!
