Greetings:

It is my pleasure to welcome back Meyer. was one of our co-founders and past moderators who left the list to pursue other interests at the time.

We are lucky to have him back.

Rodger: Maybe you can fill us in on what you have been up to these days?

Welcome back, old friend………

Heavens above,

Just fancy coming back. Welcome old

friend. All we need now is Ed Schneider with us once more and it’ll

be great fun with the old team again.

I second that. I miss Ed words here as well. Glad to see is coming back, it's been a long time. Maybe he'll curmudgeon us into some list netiquette... heh. Jennie AS

Hi folks,

With Helen's superb patience, she and I together mastered my resistance to all

things Yahoo, and I guess I'm " in. "

Thanks to all for your welcomes back.

I'll make this brief.

The main reason I requested time out (sooooo long ago) is that I had a book

contract with Kingsley that stretched out tighter than a thick rubber

band into a five year project. During its existence, it was overtaken by events,

several changes in format, and eventually I pulled the plug out of fear that my

editor and publisher would think they were dealing with an author with true

multiple personality disorder. Each one of my three (!) manuscripts was so

different that I couldn't reconcile them, combine them, or come to grips with a

temptation to go on and on and on with greater detail, rather than the writer's

holy grail ideal: concission.

By the time I came to my senses, I was still up to my neck in local community

politics, still doing some social security cases, and riding way too many

projects barebacked.

But, it's been a good time. I got into community gardening big time at three

local gardens. I wound up my career as a local neighborhood association

principal officer, handing the reigns over easily. Other projects and prospects

beckoned, so boredom or ritual never took over.

I'm still running our Portland AS Adult support group...now in our thirteenth

year of continuous existence. I've given up my expensive hobby of location sound

recording, turning in costly gear and upgrading my playback system for LP's and

CD's.

Like Ed, who had to go to the rescue of his homeowner's association after a

major hurricane, I've had to step into management issues in my own tiny

homeowners association Board of Directors as we've seen one unit undergo

foreclosure, and the physical and financial health of two other unit owners

endanger their capacity to remain as owner occupants.

So...rather than weigh in heavily on any list discussion, I'll try to lurk for a

month or so, and then gently try the waters.

Good to be back.
