Guest guest
Dear A., This is a disease that you really need to eat something. Nothing major, just something. Please try to fit that in. You're job won't be worth anything if you don't get time to eat something, your body will pay!! Just caring about your wellbeing. -list owner
Guest guest
Everyone - Thanks so much for the support - reading them really does help me. you mentioned not eating and then having way high BG - sometimes when it has been " a while " since I have eaten I will get really hungry, maybe kinda weak feeling etc. and stomach growling...then if I am not able to eat right then after just a bit the hungry feeling will mostly go away but when I check my BS it will be surprisingly high (at least to me) for being hungry! I always wondered if my liver has gone and dumped in some " sugar " to counteract the hunger or something - kinda like the " dawn effect " you mentioned. I can't give you an exact time of meal spacing cause for me it really seems to vary from day to day depending on my activity level etc. But I have learned to keep a bit of something with me - usually jerky or nuts to tide me over until a " real " meal time. I keep these in my car, desk at work, purse, so I have access just about anytime and they are easy to pop a bit in my mouth - I have even had to do it in church - felt kinda weird but I'm sure the Lord understood!!! Guest guest
Thanks, ! I know it's important, but time just got away. How often do I need to..every two to three hours? I wrote to the list (I think you might've been away) that I have been in major denial for over a year. Now, I'm trying to do the right thing and am sooo frustrated! Thanks for your support! Guest guest
and Rebekah, it takes insulin to store and release sugars, so when you are T2, you don't have enough effective insulin, and tend to have highs and lows, and it's possible for your liver to dump sugar to make up for periods of not eating. Once it gets started, it's hard to stop. To avoid this, weakness and hunger, and big peaks, i simply eat as I go. When I was brown bagging it, I would eat a few bites and wrap it up, works for me. Now retired, I eat by the clock and hunger, a little at a time, avoid disturbing my sugars, Sam
Guest guest
I'm type II and have plenty of insulin, Sam. The problem is my cells are resistant to it. This is why I gain weight easily - hyperinsulinism. Low carb corrects it.
