The Blog:

Crux-of-the-Matter started on a Blogger site in January 2006, moving to

WordPress in mid 2007. For a short time in 2010, it was also known as " The

Retired Educator. " Always, however, it has been owned and managed by Sandy Crux

and covers political and issues related to education (including autism, early

childhood education and bullying). While she lives in Southern Ontario, Canada,

she looks at newsworthy issues throughout North America and beyond.

The Blogger:

Sandy is a retired educator, having taught at both the elementary and secondary

levels, as well as in two university education departments. She earned her Ph.D

in Education from the University of Toronto (OISE) in the late 1980s and, as

well as teaching university during the 80s, 90 & #8242;s and into 2000 & #8242;s,

she operated her own reading and learning disability clinic. She has also had

many articles on educational issues published, as well as a textbook on learning

strategies.
