What do we want?

Hi Chris

The Declaration of Intent, penned and signed by the previous Canal 12 members,

states what those on the Independent Herbalist forum want. Although not a major

point in the petition, it also refers both in the background notes and petition

to leaving things as they are/were prior to the THMD.

Everyone on the Independent email group has stated that they agree with all of

the DOI, this is surely coming together and stating what we believe. The

petition also gives people the chance to come together and state what they do

not want. Anyone who wishes to be part of an official organisation that opposes

current proposals can either join IRCH or form another organisation.

Whilst I believe it is important to have communication, support and discussion

and a common ground. Groups/organisations for me will always have problems with

democracy, ego's, apathy, elitism, disrespect and individual interpretations. I

prefer, at least at the moment, to stay Independent and do not feel that this

equates with being unable to give or receive support, join in discussions,

communications, protests, continue development as a herbalist etc. We all have

choices and we all have to take the consequences of our choices, unfortunately

so do the public and the environment, whether they were active, informed or

apathetic choices.
