Guest guest
I am in the process of attempting to gather enough material for a book. Here is my proposal to you: Battling multiple sclerosis is NO laughing matter, but we need to find humor in our lives. We are told that " laughter is the best medicine, " and sometimes I have found this to be very true. I am reaching out to attempt to collaborate on a book on how we find laughter dealing with a debilitating disease. This is not going to be my book- this is going to be OUR book to share amongst ourselves and others. I am making a personal request for personal antedotes on humor in your lives. For me, it is being able to laugh at my own foibles or snafus (whatever you want to call them) such as, saying things out of order. For example one time I said, " Put my trunk in the purse " when what I meant to say, " Put my purse in the trunk. " Or the time I lost my balance while shopping with my daughter and staggered around for a moment, and she asked, " What are you drunk. " I replied, " No, it was just that MS acting up, " and several people stared. Even though some of these events happen frequently, and it is sad in a way, I have to be able to laugh at myself. Do you find any humor at the way MS screws you up? How do you handle it? Do you watch comedy, how do deal with ignorant people, etc? Please share with me as we need at least 100- 200 responses. Pictures, artwork, anything you want to contribute to show your individuality will be accepted. If you want your name, city, & /or state known with your submission then it will be. If you want to remain anonymous & /or leave out your location then that will be the way it is because as I mentioned earlier this is your book, too. This book will be published- that is a guarantee as long as we have enough submissions to warrant writing the book. Depending on the length and level of contribution is what will determine the price that can be charged for the book. A portion of the sales will be donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. Let's make this book a huge success! I have a few ideas for titles running around in my head, but I am willing to consider any and all thoughts and/or suggestions for this project. Thanks so much and may everyone have a blessed day!
