Guest guest
So, we have a problem... my son has a huge poop he can't get out.. nothing new of course except that this time it's just not coming... I really could use some suggestions.. he's been sitting on the toilet for days and we've thrown out a few pairs of underwear from the constant leaking --he's wearing a pull-up now---(he's almost 9 and is embarrassed--of course) he has a close friend that we're picking up this weekend to stay for the week and we would like to get this done so there's no issues! He is absolutely terrified of enemas.. to the point that he has nightmares... so that is out of the question... not sure what to do next...I had given him a few extra doses of natural calm and i have mag citrate but I feel like that's not going to help because he's so blocked...any suggestions would be much appreciated! Guest guest
Right?! Great!! My son would drink it like it was kool-aid, he loved it so much! After years of reading about PlumSmart juice here, I finally started giving it to my daughter and VOILA!! - not only is she regular, but the consistency is much, much softer - so much so that we give it to her every other day now to avoid the mess To: miralax Sent: Friday, July 13, 2012 8:24 PM Subject: Re: help! Have you tried PlumSmart juice? Mix in some xylitol or Nature Calm? Kirkman chewable probiotics worked well for us, they contain xylitol which works as a laxative, introducing the good bacteria to balance the gut floraTo: "miralax " <miralax >Sent: Fri, July 13, 2012 4:26:44 PMSubject: Re: help! So, can he handle inserting a glycerin suppository on his own? When we have had that "stuck" issue- the glycerin suppositories provided instant relief. I think my eldest was 7 or 8 when she could handle inserting on her own...I believe embarrassment and desperation made her a quick learner.. Guest guest
, I know this isn't what you want to hear (or your son!) but I really think you need to stop " suggesting it " and just bend him over your lap and stick the suppository in him like a baby. Maybe he'll cry and fuss about it (all kids do that, it seems!) but he needs his bowels emptied - think of the intestinal toxins being absorbed. (Knowing how the US doses are smaller than the UK doses, he probably needs two, or even four, in a 24-hour period to empty him out). > > > > ** > > > > Hi! How many days has this been going on? Guest guest
The children resisting the enema is quite true. When we had to administer Fleet's enema to my daughter who was at the time just 25/26 months, it was a traumatic event for all concerned, but in the end, it was what helped her the most in the interim periods while we were trying to figure out what worked for her.
