Guest guest
I have others here who can relate to what I am dealing with. I just wish that this illness would disappear even though I know that is impossible. But I keep thinking Positive who knows maybe it will? Keep smiling. nyzki Nyzki..I'm so sorry you're down again and I can truly empathize and relate. Are you using rotating meds? Those would be meds that you would take in smaller doses but on a more frequent basis. Such as my regime, as follows: 10 days on 250 Leviquin..after 10 days..skip 7 days..then onto Ceftin 250 for 10 days..off a week..back on leviquin..so forth and so on. I shall follow this regime for about 3-6 mos. No infections..no flareups..quality of life is a little better. Are you using a vest or any other method of chest therapy to keep that mucous up and out of your lungs? The main reason we get those flareups is cause of the pools of mucous that sit down there in the deepest parts of our lungs where infection can just breed. Feel better soon .. Guest guest
Hello everyone. I am not feeling too good today. I had to take a trip to our local Urgent Care facility to be seen by a Doc, since my regular Doc didnt have a space availible to see me. So I got the usual round of antibiotics to get rid of the latest case of Bronchitisis. I had the chills pretty bad last night. I would cover up and then get too hot and then it was back to freezing again. I sure get tired of dealing with these infections. I try my best to avoid them but no matter what I do I always seem to be sick most of the time. I am sure glad that I found this site. I have others here who can relate to what I am dealing with. Guest guest
Thanks Sandie for the support. My doctor doesnt rotate my meds, I am generally put on one kind for seven to ten days. It goes one tablet twice a day for seven to ten days something along that line anyway. And yes I have the vest. I thank god for that vest it really has made a difference in my health. My Resp Doctor is an angel for prescribing it for me. Unfortunatley I cant take Leviquin I have some severe reactions to that med. If I take that It causes blured vision and severe headaces in me. I am super sensitive to alot of antibiotics. So I have to be careful about what kinds i use. Some sulfa drugs mess me up as well. The Doctors tried to put me on Zithromax, for the 3 or five days, you know the short term antibiotic. Bad idea, that caused the same reaction as the Leviquin. So when the suggest that one, I give them a BIG FAT NO! So far I havent developed a resistance to the amoxiclav (Generic for Augmentin) my insurance company wont pay for the real stuff too exspensive. I dont know I prefere the real stuff but I cant really afford it since it it up there in price. I believe it is about 140.00 or more. a bit too rich for me to buy. So I make do with what the insurance will pay for. If not I would really be in trouble. I get these infections treated right away before they become something worse like Pneumonia. Ive had that too but thankfully didnt need to be in the hospital. Oh man I am so tired. well maybe I can finally get some rest tonight now that i can start to feel better. nyzki Never miss a thing.
