Guest guest
Chirs, YES! That's exactly it! I was the same way wth Math..and now I can do it in my head again. When I read about "brain fog" ...I didn't realize what was meant by that. Now, that I'm getting myself back...I understand what brain fog is. I am so happy for you for being able to have the small milestones too! I think it's important on our road to recovery that we celebrate the SMALL improvements so that we don't get so depressed about this disease. My husband has said I'm in a much better mood now too. I can actually care about things and get excited about things....before it was like i had no emotion what so ever...It's almost like I didn't realize how much this disease had done to me UNTIL I started improving. Take care...and continue healing! I have had a similar experience, though perhaps slightly accelerated. For me, my energy began improving pretty quickly, though I still have aches and pains that slow me down (in particular, plantar fasciitis, but also pain through my hips and lower back), so while my energy's better, I'm not able to do things that require standing or bending (like gardening, which I miss). The other breakthrough I have had is with the brain fog lifting. I love to do math--or at least, I used to--and when I found myself playing with figures again a couple months ago, I was thrilled. I am back to doing math for fun all the time now. Also, phone number, names, and other data bits don't just get stuck in the fog all the time. I can look up a phone number on my computer, walk across the room to a phone, and dial the number, without having to write it down, or hope I don't get distracted while trying to repeat it to myself on my way across the room. I can remember ingredients and their amounts required in recipes. I can think through problems again--plan ahead instead of reacting constantly. My husband has noted that I'm in a better mood these days...I think because I'm not so frustrated by all those mental shortcomings anymore. I used to yell at my kids a lot, now I hardly ever do. Anyway, I'd love to hear other people's improvement milestones! Chris
