Guest guest
Hi , Please excuse the delayed reply. I have had jury duty for the last two weeks. Really exhausting! So glad it is over. Also, I have been busy consoling and helping my sister out as her husband died suddenly from what was originally thought to be a heart attack, but his heart was good; a few days later they took him out of ICU and he had a stroke due to an undetected massive tumor in his brain and only lived a few hours. So sad! To address your questions, when my doc spoke with the specialist at UCLA, it was back in 2006. I was probably given his name but I either failed to write it down or it was lost in one of two computer crashes since then. The specialty was/is the pituitary. And I have no idea which UCLA branch that he worked at. (UCLA has a number of affiliated hospitals and satellite clinics.) I do remember that my doctor had heard him talk at a medical conference. That is how he was able to get in touch. For all I know it could have been Ted Friedman MD PhD who is an UCLA professor and he's also on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and probably elsewhere, too. For more info, go to his website at: http://goodhormonehealth.com/ Note: Dr. Freidman has recently written a book on the thyroid. It is called: The Everything Health Guide to Thyroid Disease. You can preview chapters 1-5 at his website. Also, go to PubMed and search TRH studies. In addition, thyroidmanager.org may be helpful. Go to: http://www.thyroidmanager.org/Chapter6/Ch-6-9.htm . Good luck, ~Bj >> Hi BJ (or anyone else who has these answers!)> I was wondering if you had the endo from UCLA's contact information that you referenced or even just the name so I could look him up.> > Also, do you have the studies that you mentioned were done about the TRH test? Guest guest
HI, I took my daughter to Dr. Theodore C. Friedman from UCLA. He is a researcher, but runs a medical clinic on the side in the evening. His website is: http://goodhormonehealth.com/ Hi BJ (or anyone else who has these answers!) I was wondering if you had the endo from UCLA's contact information that you referenced or even just the name so I could look him up. Also, do you have the studies that you mentioned were done about the TRH test? I would like to find them and read them and then bring them in to my doctor. Thanks so much! -
Guest guest
Hi BJ, I really appreciate you writing back -- especially with what you have been going through. I am so sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. My thoughts are with you and your sister. I didn't think that you had forgotten, I just thought the posts were getting messed up because of that one that you had sent so long ago was reposted. So I thought I would try again. I really appreciate you writing back and the input you provided -- I will definitely check everything out. Please take care of yourself first -- my questions are insignificant compared to what you have been dealing with. Thank you so much for going out of your way. - > > > > Hi BJ (or anyone else who has these answers!) > > I was wondering if you had the endo from UCLA's contact information > that you referenced or even just the name so I could look him up. > > > > Also, do you have the studies that you mentioned were done about the > TRH test?
