Guest guest
I took Maddy to the ER today. She had a rough afternoon yesterday crying,in a lot of pain. She also hasnt been getting much liquid in,food intake is so-so. The ER doc was a moron,he thought he was a comedian.I told him what had been going on and he said well she looks fine. I told him she has looked fine before and get sick on the inside and I want her to get some fluids and pain meds. He refused to draw any labs or start an IV. I told him I am very worried that she will continue to dehydrate and have a seizure. He wrote an Rx for Toridol(sp?),it was a pill and I told him she cant swallow pills and he said to put it in her food or dissolve it in water and have her drink it. Turns out when I took the Rx to the pharmacy her insurance doesnt cover it. Also they gave her a 4 oz box of apple juice and asked her to drink it,she drank 3 sips and they said ok she can go. I did speak with neurosurgery after we left(I called them when we were in the ER) and said well they said she drank her juice box and said Maddy was feeling better. Maddy said her head was still hurting before we left. The nurse told me to hold Maddy down and force her to drink. While we were at Target trying to get her meds filled (which werent covered so I couldnt afford to pick them up) she had 2 small seziures. I called neurosurgery again and Dr. M put her back on diamox. I told them again I am very worried about her liquid intake and they said try to encourage her to drink and call back tomorrow. I am praying she doesnt have anymore seizures. I cant't wait for Dr. W to return so I can tell her how trribly Maddy was treated. I also told the ER doc if Maddy has anymore seizures its on them for refusing to give fluids. Thats all for now.
