>> digestive burning issues for me and my hiatal hernia, <<

Just an FYI regarding my experience with a hiatal hernia.

Starting last February, I had a lot of intermittent stomach pain,

indigestion, bloating, gas, tightness and choking sensation in my throat,

hoarseness even feeling of constriction in my chest and sometimes problems

swallowing supplements. They would simply get stuck in my esophagus,

sometimes painfully. This went on for 4 months while I was under a

tremendous amount of emotional stress trying to deal with a dysfunctional

person in bad relationship and was even experiencing some panic attack

symptoms. I was a mess. I even tried DMSO in hopes it would relax things,

but it wasn't the answer for this. No amount of digestive aids, HCL,

enzymes, probiotics, colocynthis, or other supps would correct it. I'd

slightly improve and then it would be back.

Finally, I mentioned this to my chiropractor one day when it was

particularly troublesome and he said, " Sounds like you have a hiatal hernia "

and proceeded to adjust it. He had me stand upright against the exam table,

take a deep breath, relax and lean back and then pressed up under my sternum

with both thumbs in a slow, persistent motion downward and I could feel the

whole area release. Immediate relief and it held for days, sometimes weeks.

I also try to keep calm and not let things upset me if I can help it.

I went home and Googled hiatal hernia and found out this is very common in

older people as the diaphragm weakens and allows the stomach to push up

through the area where the esophagus comes through. For myself, the most

revealing thing was learning that it could be caused by repressed anger I

gather since one tightens the abdominal muscles and holds them taut in those

instances which can cause the stomach to be pushed upward too far. Once up

through the neck of the diaphragm, some of the stomach can lodge there.

Hiatal hernia can have other causes of coure, but for me this reason really

made sense. So, I made myself a flower essence remedy to deal with the

repressed anger issue and whenever the hh symptoms surfaced, had my

chiropractor put my stomach back down where it belongs. Over the ensuing

months, the hiatal hernia has settled down along with all the other

symptoms. I still get a flareup infrequently, but at least now I can correct

it. Time and getting myself out of a bad situation did wonders to improve

the condition. At least now I have a means to get quick relief as long as it

doesn't happen on a weekend.....>grin<

thank you Sonie .. I used to know the chiro move, but forgot it. Doing it on

yourself you can be lying back on the bed over the edge. This works alot better

than the water trick, which never did wotk for me. Whatever the cause, this

thing runs in my family. It cd be the valve there has an infection. We also has

heavily fluoridated water, which is no friend to anybody.

It really didn't like acidic stuff for a number of years. Oddly, until my

colon therapist mentioned it, I never knew I had it. Maybe he shd have kept his

mouth shut, eh?? lol. Power of suggestion? Both my parents went to some

gasto for an office procedure that was more expensive and exotic than this.

Doubt it was any better. --tls
