Guest guest Posted March 10, 2008 Report Share Posted March 10, 2008 Hi June, I just read Sandie’s results on sulfatrim – I had same result after 12 months Bactrim, w two occasion of bowel bleeds and a legacy of IBS. I agree w Sandie, we’re all different. But I would encourage do some research, keep a close eye on digestion changes etc, and best not to build up too much resistance with one (I think it is a component of many other abx - not 100% sure on this, again, maybe good to research...). Another aspect of prolonged abx is fungal infx becoming established. I had absolutely no idea of any of this at the time, and neither did drs in the intervening yrs w awful diarrhoea etc, and later abx that didn’t work anymore, for about a decade never well. There are other meds which will work fine too, and it is possible once the bug is under control, to stay in remission for many years....without meds!!! here’s to continued well-being!
