Guest guest
ABG on room air revealed a pH of 7.46, pCO2 37.2, pO2 68.2, bicarbonate 26.3, and oxygen saturation of 94% on room air with a s/l AA? gradient of 36. A chest x-ray revealed flattening of the diaphragm, moderate hyperaeration with increased s/l AP?(EP?) diameter consistent with emphysema. There was no evidence for any pleural effusion or pulmonary infiltrates. The patient had an acute episode of shortness of breath, decreased air movement, s/l dekipnea? and wheezing after a cleaning solution was used outside of the patient's room in order to clear the hospital floor. ------>I cannot document a " AA " gradient for ABG test, nor an " AP " or " EP " diameter for a chest x-ray. I know I will kick myself when I get the answer to " dekipnea " - this has got to be one of those basic words I know but just can't come up with the right spelling to. Bev W.
