Guest guest
What do they test for exactly when a PFT is requested. I am going in for a PFT on the 16th of this mo. Just wondering what it is that they are testing for. I've had these in the past but no one has ever told me anything from the results. Guest guest
Good Morning Everyone I had another visit with my Pulmonary Specialist yesterday and I was patiently waiting for the last sputum results. Well, I'm totally disappointed! Here's what she said, I don't have fungus, and no psuesdomasis.....so that's that....I said well what do I have. She said it doesn't matter cause whatever I have I'm keeping it she will not treat me with any anti's period! So how I am with the mucous and coughing is how I will be for the rest of my life....and on occasion I will get worse and then she will treat me....how nice! She said at this point there is only one anti that I can take PERIOD and she is not prepared to use it on what I now have lovely. Have any of you faced the same answers? I'm sure if I had another Dr they would treat me.....maybe she is wiser than the rest, I'm not sure...remember I had a rainbow of anti's before which didn't do a thing.... Cheers PFT What do they test for exactly when a PFT is requested. I am going in for a PFT on the 16th of this mo. Just wondering what it is that they are testing for. Guest guest
– I’m sorry you were dismissed like that. I have never, never shown anything on my test results…so frustrating. I know I’m sick – and I get better when I have antibiotics. I am currently on rotating antibiotics because my pulmonologist thinks I have chronic bronchitis in additional to whatever else I have. I have had no infections in 3 months (just one from a horrible cold) but no others – and I’m also seeing an MD that uses eastern medicine. This week I had 4 “good” days of no mucus – and feeling great…the first time in over a year….. My answer to you is keep trying – I had have Dr.’s say to me “I can’t help you”…..not an acceptable answer…..you have to continue to find the right treatment for you….no one else will J.
