Guest guest
Hi Gail, I'm 47 also, and I started swimming daily back in Sept, about the mid of month I guess I was swimming daily~today the pool is closed and I really miss it, I swim and do water aerobics once a day for 45-60 in or sometimes up to 1 1/2 hours. Guess I have about 1 more month to make it a habit, I will keep it going. I am going for a walk today instead, but my ankles still are not in great shape (broke both last year-ouch!). My little boy and I will walk together. Jill Re: OT: happy T-Day Meenie I know what you are talking about! I remember someone saying it takes a " click " going off in your head to give the willpower. All I can say is, seeing my butt in that mirror gave me the " click " . I gotta say I always hated exercise. But at 47, I knew diet wasn't gonna do it alone. So, I started bike riding (picture this; a 47 year old woman on a 25 year old bike; yuck). And was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my body responded. By the end of the first week, I noticed increased stamina and flexibility; plus a better outlook on life. This, of course, gave me more incentive to stick with it. I read once if you can stick with a habit for at least 3 months, it becomes a lifestyle. Just doing it one day at a time. Gail
