Guest guest
Welcome to the new people. You have come to the right place to chat and learn a lot about bronchiectasis. I use the volumetric spirometer. I have had 3-4 over the years. I wouldn,t be without one. My family have each purchased one since they all have lung probs too. It was a real novelty in my kids late teens, cos they all used it to see who had the best results etc. It has saved lots of illness within my family over many years. Certainly made people wake up re: smoking, working with chemicals, and over doing excersise etc. Just a simple, cheap yet most valuable apparatus. Great at measuring how well you are doing or opposite etc. Make sure you do the best of 3 before using a puffer/ nebuliser etc and same after , BUT wait 5 mins after using any med, and if using just to see how well you are after a long walk, housework, gardening etc, make sure you record the best of 3 before and best of 3 later- again give at least 10 mins after doing something strenuous to get accurate read. When you purchase you should get a pad to record in daily record. Can also purchase the daily record pad from pharmacists. Can use as graph or just jot the numbers, BUT easy to see if you do graph. Can do on computer and have file- and record, that can be printed out when going to doctors etc. Sandy- T- from Australia. Sandie-- I will try and sign off sandy T when I remember.
