YES!

Sugar = crack for him.

He has always tested low or negative to yeast, but sugar is a huge

behavioral trigger.

I KNOW there is something besides yeast behind his inability to

handle sugar, just haven't found out yet. And he has been tested

several times for diabetes, but that always comes out normal too.

Lately he has had phenol intolerance too - I have had to take away

tomatoes, strawberries and oranges.

yes my child has problem metabolizing all kinds of sugar esp. refined one,but he is a little ok with evap cane sugar,xylitol and unpasteurized honey.make sure you check all the sweet ingredients beware of aspartame in sodas and candies.

organic agave is also ok but not everyday just 2tsps is fine for breakfast syrup.

there's a new sugar called lakanto that taste and looks like a real sugar and doesn't feed the yeast though its very very expensive abt. $50/kilo,its from body ecology.

hope this helps...

Crack is a good way to describe my son's reaction to any sugars. I am so baffled by this because before we went gfcf/yeast free last November, he ate gummies and fruit and sugars all the time.

He has one pear a day and one brand of gfcf rice bar that he can tolerate and thats it. He went absolutely insane this summer from gfcfsf brownies and screaming hysterics from gfcf cookies. Is it now that he is cleansed, he is so sensitive? There has to be something more to this. I also have checked for diabeties. What is it?
