He always took great care of his hair. In fact, I used to tease him that he used so much talcum powder after his bath that a month's supply to Bindu (who was the top vamp in those days) would have been taken care of. Bindu's famous song was from Zanjeer: " Dil jalon ka, Dil jala ke " We converted that to: " Phulzhaley ka, Phool jala ke, kya milega dilruba? " After his 5th or 6th attempt at clearing his MBBS, I told him that when my son comes to Sevagram, I will tell him to look up Deepak uncle in block B, next to the upper floor utility room. Fortunately, Deepak cleared his MBBS at the next attempt, but unfortunately died of an MI in his early days (2001) leaving behind a lovely wife and small daughters in school and of course, lots and lots of memories. He was especially active in the music group of our college called Sargam, or sometimes, if they performed badly, then Sar Garam. His hairstyle and accented English immediately drew everybody's attenton. Needless to add, that very few of us would go back and study. His movements were always mysterious. We never came to know when he came into his room, or when he used to go out or for that matter, his sleeping hours. We were really in awe with his overall persona and loved his unique style of doing anything, from his hairstyle to his playing percussion instruments, specially Congo. After a while, after finishing his internship,  he went to Nagpur to start his practice. I used to meet him occasionally in some MGIMS function or Cocktail dinners or such places. He always greeted me with the same enthusiasm and smile. His hair(Kaka style) had thinned out, but otherwise he was same. I remember, the news of his demise was a great shock to me and left me sad for a long duration. Guest guest Posted July 24, 2012 Report Share Posted July 24, 2012 The ratta boss was Dr Gauri Shankar Goel.He also took long time to clear his MBBS.He was from Etawa UP.He got married in 2nd year.He worked with CGHS in Delhi.He used to be hypertensive during hostel days.He also passed away in 2010 due to MI. He was a great pal of Deepak Phulzaley. Both of them had very bad lifestyle.But both of them very sincere friends & nice souls. I miss them. Dr. Fulzele and Dr. Yelanje passed their MBBS with our batch. These people may not have been studious like many other seniors but were always available for all sort of advices including (??) Studies, Sanjay Marwah, it was you who clubbed study and Dr. Fulzele. Initially we were sort of afraid of him, since he was so much senior and perpetually in 3rd term of final MBBS. my room was also on first floor, just 4 doors away with window towards the mess. We used to tip-toe across his always-open door while going to the bathroom. Premdas and Bele were his constant visitors. As the time passed, his jovial nature, jazzy dressing style, and 'cool' confident attitude tilted all of us towards him. we started thinking of him as a 'senior friend'. Anybody who was in need of some moral boosting, cigarette, some advice about non-academic issues(wide range) would go to his permanently semi-dark room, and after a while come out smiling. Once or twice in a fortnight 6-7 of us would gather in his room to listen to his stories of the MGIMS stay. Most of us still believe those stories. The session used to be full of fun, laughter and of course,  cigarette or beedi smoke. At the end of such session he would declare, not unlike an emperor, " jamo " meaning - go back to your room and 'jam ke padho '. So, fondly we started calling him 'Jamo boss'. Needless to add, that very few of us would go back and study. His movements were always mysterious. We never came to know when he came into his room, or when he used to go out or for that matter, his sleeping hours. We were really in awe with his overall persona and loved his unique style of doing anything, from his hairstyle to his playing percussion instruments, specially Congo. After a while, after finishing his internship,  he went to Nagpur to start his practice. I used to meet him occasionally in some MGIMS function or Cocktail dinners or such places. He always greeted me with the same enthusiasm and smile. His hair(Kaka style) had thinned out, but otherwise he was same. I remember, the news of his demise was a great shock to me and left me sad for a long duration.
