Guest guest
I went to physical therapy yesterday and got an extensive, 45 minute, workout! He had me on an exercise bike that works with the arms and legs. I couldn't peddle, but my arms are strong and I made my legs move with the handle bars (if that makes sense). I did that for 5 minutes. He said I showed progress with my balance and my ability to stand for a longer period of time. I sat on a big rubber ball and held myself steady for awhile, with my PT behind me in case I rolled off. He then had me wobble, retaining my balance. I reached out and grapped the bar in front of me a couple of times when I got a little off-balance and he said my reflexes were great. The exercises he showed me last week were improved this week. I could hold my legs together when I was lying down with my knees in the air. They used to flop apart. I could also control them better when I moved my knees from side to side. My appointments have been upped to twice a week starting next week. I hope to see more progress as time goes on. I feel like this is going to get me back on my feet. Even though I've only been 4 times, I see marked improvement. I encourage everyone who can to get this treatment.
