Fresh fruit,veggies especially green ones, salads, dried fruit, or

sauerkraut. Sauerkraut and the other veggies in the cabbage family can

produce alot of gas, so don't take too many of these all at once.

Whole grain cereals especially bran. A banana on a bowl of raisin bran

should help

You might consider a stool softener such as colace, fibercon or other fiber

tablets, and or increase your metamucil. Beer works well for me, but I

wouldn't recommend it if you are taking narcotics.

The main thing is to maintain the same amount of roughage each day, and to

not wait more than 2 - 3 days between bowel movements.
