Guest guest
I cannot believe it was that hard for them to figure out how to send a teletype!!!!!!!! Kinda like the chat rooms that are restricted to Law Enforcement personnel, and one of the things they ask for is your ORI, you figure anybody who has to ask what an ORI is, probably doesn't belong there! -----Original Message----- >Ok... I get this phone call from a man who says he is Officer (!) with the Los Angeles Police department and could I please do a local records check for him?? Sure, " send me a teletype " I say, and I'll be glad to check for you.... But Tallahassee just checked for me... " Our policy is to not release this information over the phone without verification of who we are talking to. Please have your records department send us a teletype request " ... end of phone call.. > >Then about 10 minutes this Officer calls me back - he's in his records section and they can't figure out how to send me a teletype and did I have an address or something?? Sure, I gave him my ORI then he said, and I'm sorry but I'm still not buying that this is a legit request, they're not sure how to send a message. !!!!! I told him, if they have NCIC access, they should know... still waiting for the teletype and by crackers here it is... looks like they figured it out!! > >Kathy >
